Ho West District of Assemblies of God

History

The Ho West District of the Assemblies of God, Ghana is a district in the Volta South Region of Assemblies of God, Ghana. It was formerly known as Ho Zone and later Ho District, before it was finally split into two districts in 2015; Namely, Ho East and Ho West. The district covers the areas like Ho, Sokode, Abutia, Kisiflui, Akrofu, Bame, Anyinawoase, Tsito, Podoe, Juapong, Taviefe, Klefe and Matse in the Volta Region of Ghana.

The District as part of the Assemblies of God, Ghana fellowship with over seven  hundred thousand (700,000) membership in Ghana and eighty-five million (85,000,000) membership in the world or globally. 

The vision of the District is to be a vibrant,  spirit filled and Christ centered Church that reaches out to communities and nations with the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is the mission  of the district to plant , nurture  and equip Churches  that are committed to worship, discipleship,  evangelism and social transformation. The district’s core value are faith, love, integrity, excellence and service.

The district is part of the West Africa Assemblies of God Fellowship, which is the network of over 20,000 churches in 22 countries. The vision of the district is to be a vibrant, spirit filled, and Christ centered church that reaches out to communities and nations with the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is the mission of the District is to plant, nurture and equip churches that are committed to worship, discipleship, evangelism, and social transformation. The district’s core values are faith, love, integrity, excellence, and service.

Ho West District has various  ministries and programmes that cater for the needs and interests of her members and society.  Some of which include Children Ministry, Youth Ministry, Men Ministry, Women Ministry, Men Ministry and Christian Education Department. 

This ministries and department support  the administrative and operational functions of the District which are Home Missions Department, Theological Seminary and  Pastors and Spouses Welfare Scheme. 

The District has a Website and Facebook page where it shares information, new, events and other activities. 

The district is one of the 10 districts of Assemblies of God, Ghana in the Volta South Region. The Volta Region is known for its rich cultural heritage, natural resources and tourist attraction centers. Some of the popular tourist destinations in the region are: Wli waterfalls, Amedzofe Walkway, the Tafi Atome Monkey Sancturary, the Kyabobo National park, and the Lake Volta. The region’s capital and lagest city is Ho, which is about 180km from Accra, the national capital of Ghana.

Mission

The Ho West District Assemblies of God aims to create a platform for churches, pastors, and ministry leaders in the district to collaborate in harmony to promote God’s Kingdom.

Vision

Our vision is that Christ will be announced, and His Church will be built across the district by the power of the Holy Spirit.
